On Sunday Mold was the place to be for triathletes taking part for the Cadence Tri Sprint Triathlon. A number of the GOG Squad were taking part and Sion Kelly Williams took third spot on the podium in 1.17.31. Next home was Tim Burnett in 6th place overall 1.19.39. Jonathan Seymour was 11th in 1.21.41. He was followed by Eduardo Vega in 1.25.13, Brian Bennett 1.32.05. Joshua White 1.34.15, Richie Bartlett 1.41.16, Malcolm Harrison 1.50.45, and Christian Kent 1.52.33.
First GOG to finish in the lady’s race in 13th position overall was Paula Stevens in 1.48.08. She was followed by Lucy Bradley in 2.07.05 and taking first in her age group Dinah Hazeldine in 2.18.31.
The Club had a good turnout in the Chester Half Marathon alongside over six thousand other runners. Daragh Reynolds had a strong run and was the first GOG home in 1.23.08. He was followed by Andy Jones who finished in 1.27.35. Andy ran well considering his 3.18 London Marathon time last week. Andrew Roberts finished in 1.42.30, Ashley Tomlinson 1.42.52, and Paul Hooson 1.44.23.
Mared Dafydd had a great race finishing the half with a PB of 1.38.19. Next home with another PB was Claire Scoots in 1.52.55. Stephanie Conway finished in 1.53.11, Sarah Massey in 2.05.33 and Nan Roberts in 2.11.55.
In Oulton Park Spring Duathlon Geran Hughes finished in 1.11.15, 41st overall and third in his age category. Angie Hughes was 27th female in 1.29.06, 27th. Her time and position in her age category, enables her to qualify for Team GB in the World Duathlon Championships in Copenhagen later in the year.
Finally, on Saturday Gavin Roberts took second place in the tough Llangynhafal Loop Fell Race in Denbighshire.
