GOG Triathlon Club Members dispersed across the country this weekend to take part in various multisport and running events.
On Saturday at the Always Aim High Slateman Sprint Triathlon Gareth Bowyer was 5th overall and 1st in age in 1.18.44. Graham Ormondroyd finished in 1.43.21 and Tom Johnson 1.52.25. Paula Maguire completed the race 24th female in 1.41.56.
In the Standard Race on Sunday Alex Hatton was the first GOG home in 26th overall in 2.50.49. Gareth Bowyer took on the Standard after the Sprint on Saturday and finished 1st in age again in 2.54.41. Ian Jones clocked 3.28.19. Joni Stubbs-Thrush was first GOG female home in 15th place overall in 3.28.39. Tabitha Angle-Smith followed in 3.56.59 and Steph Conway 4.00.23.
Down in Port Talbot the TATA Steelman Triathlon was hosting the Welsh Standard Distance Championships. Simon Cole finished first male for the GOGs in 11th place overall in 2.09.52. Adrian Leonard was next home in 2.15.23, Simon Roxburgh 2.20.55 and Josh White 2.49.22.
Rhian Roxburgh finished 3rd overall and 1st in age in 2.14.39, an impressive feat following her half ironman success last week. Emer Sandham was next to cross the line in 2.33.23. She was followed by Sarah Gallacher 2.39.26, Mared Dafydd 2.43.48, Debs Jones who was 1st in age in 2.53.43, Paula Stevens 2.56.16 and Geri Evans 2.58.34.
In Bucks, Paul Algieri was the sole representative at the Eton Dorney Sprint Triathlon which was a GB Age Group Qualifier. He finished 4th in age in a time of 1:09:43.
At the Essar Chester Half Marathon Andy Jones ran well to finish in 1.29.38. He was followed by Neil Vicars Harris in 1.37.17 and Steve Dutton 1.47.14. For the ladies El Ashcroft ran the half in 1.37.20. Followed by Janine Butterworth 1.47.46, Celia Free 2.23.38 and Emma Marshall 2.32.54.
Finally in Llanrwst at the Snowdonia Half Marathon David Griffith finished the tough course in 1.40.26 and Laurie Griffith finished in 2.10.42.
