European Multisport Championship in Romania. Tenby Long Course Weekend. Deva Divas Triathlon. July 2019

GOG Triathlon Club welcomed home some members of the club this week who had competed for their home nations at the European Multisport Championships in Romania. Malcolm Harrison and Deborah Robinson took part in the cross triathlon, and Geran Hughes and Robin Sandham raced the cross duathlon for the British Age Group Team. Emer Sandham raced the middle distance for her home country Ireland. Whilst the local athletes did not make the podium good results were recorded across their races.

Down in Tenby last weekend Alex Hatton took part in the Long Course Weekend, a long-distance event which runs over three days in the seaside town. Alex performed well across the distances recording 1.04.00 for the 2.4-mile swim, 5.39.00 for the 112mile bike and on the final day a half marathon time of 1.38.29.

This weekend Sunday saw some of the GOG ladies travel to Chester for the Deva Divas triathlon. The female-only sprint triathlon comprises of a 750-meter swim in the Dee, ride out to Pulford and a flat fast run around the Meadows. Rachel Cook was the first home for the GOGs in 1.43.58, she was followed by Angharad Lewis in 1.44.02 and Dinah Hazeldine in 1.52.35.
