European Triathlon Championships, Deva Tri & Lakes Aquabike. June 2019

GOG Triathlon Club were proud to be represented by two athletes at the European Triathlon Championships in Weert in Holland last week. Sharing a stage with Alistair Brownlee et al the GOGs raced the standard distance event for the Great Britain Age Group Team. Joni Stubbs Thrush had a strong swim and bike and finished in a very respectable time of 2.40.32. Adrian Leonard performed well across the disciplines and finished in 12th place in his age group in an impressive 2.09.18.

Closer to home Chester Triathlon Club hosted the Deva Triathlon. Jack Smith Keegin finished 15th place overall in a 4.10.58. Sarah Gallacher making her debut at this distance finished in 5.09.02, earning her 2nd place in her age category. In the standard distance race Paula Maguire finished in 2.53.43 and Michelle Farrell 3.18.48.

Simon Baldwin travelled to the lake district to take part in a Day in the Lakes Aquabike which comprises of a 2000m swim and 78km bike. He finished in third place overall in 2.49.15.
